I’m going to be honest: I don’t like asking for money, and I know you probably don’t like being asked.
I know full well that our readers have a lot more things to spend money on than donations, especially in these times. That’s why I cringe a little bit every time I’m asked to write one of these email fundraising appeals.
And yet the reality is that producing journalism isn’t cheap or easy, especially the kind of in-depth investigative journalism that we do here at The Intercept.
We hold corporations and governments accountable, even if sometimes that means filing a Freedom of Information lawsuit. We call out corruption and hypocrisy wherever we see it, regardless of political affiliation. We give voice to the voiceless, even when that means defending the rights of unpopular or disfavored minority groups.
So even though I wish we didn’t have to, I’m asking you to become a sustaining donor to The Intercept by pledging some small amount of money each month to power our work. And as a special bonus, if you donate today, we won’t ask again for the remainder of this drive.
If you’ve saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Thank you,
