Here's what I picked this week, enjoy!

1. The Front-End Developer's Guide to the Terminal​

TL;DR: Basic, but very well written guide to the Terminal.

Inside, in addition to what the basic commands do, you can discover a lot of interesting things. For example, you can find about such tools as autocomplete Fig (I use it myself 🔥) and fancy terminal Warp.

2. GitLab Handbook​

TL;DR: Handbook to how GitLab is run as the company.

There's literally everything about GitLab company: mission, values, culture, finances, marketing, sales, how the engineering teams look like and many many more. Literally the whole organisation processes is in there.

To understand how big this Handbook is, if you take it and print it out, it's 2,000 pages of text 0_0

3. DALL·E 2 and The Origin of Vibe Shifts​

TL;DR: What the future holds for us after we've seen the possibilities of DALLE2.

A week ago OpenAI showed the world a new AI called DALLE2.

What can it do?

Generate a picture from any text. For example, if you feed it the text “astronaut on a unicorn in photorealistic style” it will give you such image:

Cool? Yes!

Such AI capabilities raise the question of where this will lead. After all, anyone can create unique content now. The author of the essay also asked himself this question and decided to reflect on what awaits us.

The article is very good and I don’t want to squeeze it in tldr, but I’ll give you a hint of what will happen first.

Remember how cool it was in 2015 or so to have stock photos on your landings. And then when Unsplash and others came along and made studio photos available to the masses, everyone switched to drawn illustrations. So, DALLE2 made drawing illustration available to the masses.
