Issue 213 - Click and accept your loaner

Tesla Owners California Takeover
Attend the largest Tesla event in North America on August 6, 2022, in San Luis Obispo, California. This event will feature a panel of the most influential YouTubers in the Tesla space, educational sessions, customized Teslas with original roadsters along with activities for kids. A must attend to hang out with other community members from all over North America.

Software updates

Accept a loaner car in the Tesla mobile app during warranty repairs 📷
As a way of expediting service and improving the experience, the Tesla app now lets you, in some cases, accept the loaner car that you will get (if you are lucky to get one) when you bring in your car for service under warranty.

Upcoming Tesla feature: Free access to public hotspots from, AT&T, Comcast, Orange, and more 📷
Twitter user Analytic_ETH has been able to enable this feature, which now is in the firmware but disabled. Once enabled, you can just select the relevant network and the car will connect.

FSD Beta v10.12 will include many improvements
Elon mentioned complex left turns and heavy traffic. I, personally, wish that it is more assertive at stop signs, stops trying to go around vehicles that it shouldn't, and becomes a bit smoother.

Tesla app may load vehicle data instantly in an upcoming update
A new Tesla App indicates that Tesla is opening an API end-point that will gather this data without the need to wake up your vehicle.

Auto cooled seats in the Tesla app 📷
Not that long ago, Tesla introduced auto-heated seats on the mobile app. Now, for folks with cooled seats (new Model S and X), you can use the same functionality to set them to auto cool.

Refreshed S & X

Hidden energy chart for refresh S/X
Thanks to DayTrippin from TMC: By using the voice commands and saying "open energy" you will be able to see the energy chart in the refresh S/X.

Tesla Model X Plaid spotted in Toronto to kick off the first Canadian Model X deliveries in nearly one and a half years
Happy to see the new Model X getting to more customers, some of whom have been waiting for their new X for over one and a half years!

Hardware updates

Tesla confirms the cutoff date for discontinuing the Mobile Connector
If you ordered your Tesla after April 17th 2022, don't expect it to come with the Mobile Connector. If you order it before, I would recommend that you still check if your car comes with it.

How to setup Tesla Boombox with custom sounds
Great article by Dan Burkland describing the process. Have you added any custom sounds to your Boombox?
