🎮 Where we droppin’, boys?

Apple and Google both pulled Fortnite from their respective app stores back in 2020, after developer Epic Games tried to bypass the companies’ in-app purchase rules. Android supports installing apps from outside the Play Store, so Fortnite is still available there, but iPhone and iPad owners haven’t had any options — until now.

Microsoft just added Fortnite to Xbox Cloud Gaming, allowing anyone in 26 countries with an iPhone or iPad (or Android device) to play the game through the web browser. Unlike all the other games on Xbox Cloud Gaming, you don’t need a paid Xbox Game Pass subscription, only a free Microsoft account.

There’s other gaming news to be excited about, too. Microsoft is testing a new ‘Controller Bar’ for anyone using an Xbox controller on Windows 11, and a version of Wordle for the Commodore 64 was just updated.
