🎧 Apple is done selling iPods

Apple announced this week that it is ending production of the iPod Touch, marking the end of the entire iPod lineup after over 20 years. The iPod Shuffle and Nano were both discontinued several years ago, and the Touch didn’t have much of a reason to exist anymore — older iPhones are readily available at around the iPod’s $199 price point, and many people still interested in dedicated music players have moved onto greener pastures.

Still, the iPod defined the 2000’s in a way few tech products ever manage, and laid the foundation for the iPhone (and every smartphone afterwards). Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to watch those old iPod silhouette ads.
