💳 Google Wallet wants to replace your real wallet

Android phones will soon have a new Google Wallet app, which will either live alongside or replace the Google Pay app, depending on where you live. Google Wallet will be the new home for all your digital cards, plane tickets, bus and train passes, rewards programs, gift cards, and everything else you might cram into a wallet.

Of course, all this relies on companies to actually offer digital versions of cards, and on governments to offer digital versions of driver’s licenses and other IDs. We’ll have to wait and see if that becomes a reality.
