I'm Learning Out Loud - Non-Progress Report
Non-Progress ReportThis is I'm Learning Out Loud, a newsletter about an instructional designer who is trying to create an online course while publicly documenting it along the way.Yes, you read that title correctly. Today’s update: I haven’t made much progress since my last report 🥴 This Easter weekend, I visited my family in Mississauga (my hometown). Since arriving back in Montreal, I’ve needed a few days to settle back into my routine. Work culture promotes long weekends as a chance to take a break. But let’s be honest, how do you really feel when you go back to the office after a holiday? Even more drained. Holidays are great, but traveling and socializing takes quite a bit of energy. So here’s a little reminder: Give yourself the permission to rest—and actually take it!Your boss, coworkers, and clients don’t know how you truly feel. So you gotta advocate for yourself. Plus, it can feel good returning to work when you’re re-energized and pumped to put your skillset to use! Next update, I promise to share more about how I’m investigating my course niche ideas. I’m excited to uncover some knowledge/skills gaps! 🕵🏻♀️ Until then, I hope you’re also finding ways to rest and reboot. Laraine Did you know feedback is one of the most critical factors for learning? So if at any point during this project, you have some constructive criticism or advice for me, please fill out this anonymous form: |
