Tom Brady Gets Lucrative 10-Year, $375 Million Contract to be Lead NFL Analyst for FOX Sports

Once Tom Brady officially retires, you'll know where to find him for the next decade. The largest deal in sports broadcast history belongs to the GOAT — even though he’s still playing football. Brady will join FOX Sports on a monster 10-year, $375 million deal to call games as the network’s lead NFL analyst following his retirement, the network announced Tuesday. FOX lost Joe Buck and Troy Aikman to ESPN this offseason, but the media giant wasted little time making a splash for their big-name replacement. Brady’s sportscasting contract is more than double the deals signed by Tony Romo (CBS) and Troy Aikman (ESPN) in recent years.

Tom Brady (FOX): $37.5 Million / Year

Troy Aikman (ESPN): $18 Million / Year

Tony Romo (CBS): $17.5 Million / Year

Peyton & Eli Manning (ESPN): $12-18 Million / Year

Al Michaels (Amazon): $10-15 Million / Year

Drew Brees (NBC): $6 Million / Year

The Waiting Game: Unfortunately for FOX, Brady is still playing with the Buccaneers in 2022. They’ll still have to find a No. 1 game analyst for the upcoming season, and maybe beyond if Brady continues to play past 45. Once the wait is over, it's TB12 in the booth.

Angels Rookie Reid Detmers Tosses No-Hitter in 11th Career Start

More history for the Halos! Just one night after Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout ignited a home run fiesta, the Angels routed the Rays (12-0) with a piece of history on the mound. Lefty Reid Detmers pitched a no-no in just his 11th career start. Detmers only struck out two batters and allowed one walk, but he threw into 11 groundouts and eight flyouts. The 22-year-old became the youngest pitcher in Angels history to throw a no-no. He got Yandy Diaz to ground out to shortstop for the final out, and the celebration at Angel Stadium erupted. Detmers is the 12th Angels pitcher to throw a no-hitter — the youngest to ever do it — and the 25th rookie to achieve the feat in MLB history.

Verlander Flirts With No-No: The ageless Justin Verlander almost made it a double no-no night in the big leagues as he took his no-hit bid into the 8th inning against the Twins before Gio Urshela broke it with a single. The Astros won their eighth straight (5-0) behind Verlander’s gem.

Judge’s 1st Walk-Off HR: With the Yankees trailing the Blue Jays in the bottom of the 9th (5-3), Aaron Judge stepped to the plate with two on and smacked a three-run shot over the left-field wall for his first career walk-off HR (6-5).

City Signs Haaland ✍️

Manchester City Sign Striker Erling Haaland From Borussia Dortmund

Pep Guardiola’s club has found their man! Manchester City announced an agreement in principle to sign 21-year-old phenom Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday. City will reportedly agree to pay the Norwegian’s £51.2 million release clause. He’ll move to Etihad Stadium on July 1 where he’ll sign a five-year deal and become one of the highest-paid players. City’s need for a striker has been the biggest weakness since Sergio Aguero left the club last year. La Liga powerhouses Real Madrid and Barcelona were also in talks with Haaland, but he ultimately chose City.

Haaland’s Unrivaled Potential

Haaland has been one of the most coveted young players in European soccer for the last few years after amassing 85 goals in 88 matches for Dortmund. The Premier League champs get the boot they desperately need, and Haaland joins the club his father, Alfie, played for from 2000-2003. City (86 pts) are in a dog fight with Liverpool (83 pts) for the EPL title once again, but Haaland’s boost could make them an undeniable dynasty in the years to come.

1-Seed Suns & Heat Roll Toward Conference Finals With Dominating Game 5s

Gm 5: Heat def. 76ers (120-85)

The Heat tipped off a pair of blowout wins on Tuesday night by deconstructing the 76ers. Miami took a 15-point lead into the 4th quarter before outscoring Philly by 20 in the final stanza. The Heat had seven players in double figures with Jimmy Butler (23 points) leading the way. Joel Embiid (17 points) and James Harden (14 points) both struggled in a swing game that pushes the Sixers to the brink. MIA Leads Series (3-2)

Gm 5: Suns def. Mavericks (110-80)

The Mavericks kept things tight in Phoenix until a Suns’ runaway in the second half. Phoenix only led by 3 at the break before outscoring Dallas by 27 the rest of the way. Luka Doncic (28 points, 11 rebounds) did all he could, but Devin Booker (28 points) and DeAndre Ayton (20 points) delivered the scoring punch for the Suns. Head coach Monty Williams opted to play bully-ball with his bigs, and it led to a 50-38 advantage on the glass. The Suns are one game away from a return trip to the conference finals.
