Hi there,

The past couple of months at The Factual have been busy and I wanted to take a moment to share some of the exciting new products and features we launched.  We hope to make these updates every quarter and would love any feedback you have.

Product Updates

Politically diverse news search

First up, a new search interface on factual.news and in The Factual app (iOS and Android) finds the best stories across the political spectrum including expert news sites that are often missed by Google. You can easily see the most credible viewpoints across the political spectrum, filter out paywall articles, and get all the context that you are used to from our newsletter - political leaning, The Factual Grade, and read time.

Validate article credibility

On factual.news, you can also use the same search interface to validate any news article and get its Factual grade.  So, the next time your friend sends you an article that seems dubious, just paste the URL in the search box and see its grade details.  And then send them back higher-rated articles on the same topic! ;-)

Filter out paywalled articles

One of the biggest requests from readers is to get content that is not behind a paywall. On the factual.news website, and the app, you can now set the Paywall filter to “No” and we will replace paywalled stories with highly-rated free stories, where possible. Now you can get credible news, on all the important topics, for free!

Content Updates

Podcast

A few months ago, we launched a new podcast - Unbiased - where twice a month, we interview the best writers and thinkers across the political spectrum and go deep on divisive issues so you have all the facts and can reach your own conclusions.

In our first 10 episodes we’ve talked with Shark Tank investor Mark Cuban on why drug prices are so high and what he’s doing about it;, Tim Kendall, star of the Netflix hit docudrama Social Dilemma, on how to push back on social media’s ill effects; former Fox News and now CNN commentator Jonah Goldberg on what happened to the conservative movement, and more. Would love to hear your feedback when you can check it out.

Blog face-lift

We have improved the blog page and made it easier for you to find our in-depth research on divisive topics, ratings on different media sources, and other unique content only found on our blog.

Feature Update

Sharing articles

Lastly, we have made it easier for you to share articles and different points of view with your friends and family.  You can do this from your newsletter in the browser, or via the app.
