Top 3: StackOverflow asked 70,000 devs about Angular, a fictional interview with Seneca, and what makes a healthy engineering team

Here's what I picked this week, enjoy!
1. 2022 Developer Survey
TL;DR: Annual survey of 70,000 developers from StackOverflow.
Interesting stats:
- JavaScript is the most popular language, TypeScript in 5th place
- Rust is the most adored language, TypeScript in 4th place
- NodeJS is the most popular technology, React is 2nd, Next is 11th
- Postgres is the most adored database, Mongo comes in 3rd place
- npm is used twice as much as yarn
- VS Code is used by 75% of the respondents, IntelliJ only by 28%
- JIRA is used by 50% of respondents (🥲), Notion by 20%, Clickup by 6%
- The ratio of Loved vs. Dreaded technologies is 68% / 32% for React, 63% / 37% for Vue, and 21% / 79% for everyone’s “favorite” Angular
In addition to making me smile, the last point gave me an interesting realization.
If you look at absolutely all the statistics from this survey, you can see that the most popular and favorite technologies are simple and intuitive.
- Slack > Microsoft Teams
- Notion > Jira
- Fastify > Nest
- React > Angular
It seems to me that if technologies on the right didn't have that kind of financial and marketing support, they would die. Big companies fighting evolution.
2. Things You Should Know About Databases

I'll also add to that a sense of security. It's when everyone on the team isn't afraid to speak their mind.
Everyone has been in these calls with 10+ people when only 2-3 people are talking? It's because of the lack of security.
