After two years without, we're thrilled to be attending this year's Comic-Con in San Diego. Kicking off today, it promises to be a long weekend full of fantastic surprises and thrills.

The Artemis I Moon mission finally has a launch window

Celebrate the end of summer with a lunar event like no other... maybe.

The Artemis I mission is supposed to fly a Space Launch System rocket with an uncrewed Orion capsule on top toward the Moon, conduct a series of in-flight tests, and then go through the trial of re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere to see if Orion can survive the descent.

Finally, after a slew of delays, NASA claims the Artemis I mission will likely launch on one of these dates later this year.

Researchers uncover a lost city

Writing this week in the journal Antiquity, researchers describe the remains of a stone fortress they argue may be the lost city Natounia.

Known only from inscriptions on a handful of drachma coins, Natounia appeared to be an important place connected to Parthian rulers. In the days when the Silk Road crisscrossed through Europe and Asia, the powerful Parthian Empire played a pivotal role in connecting the East to the West.

Jordan Peele strikes again with Nope

Brimming with tension but laced with gaiety so as to never feel hostile, Nope is an operatic and sweeping thriller that celebrates cinema and simultaneously condemns it as an industry built on obscured violence.

In musing Hollywood’s paradoxical business of creating fantasies by killing dreams, Peele along the way places overdue focus on the offscreen heroes who make the motion pictures possible. Is it the scariest movie you’ll ever see? Nope. Is it unforgettable? Yup.
