The Great American Baking Show Is Officially Happening

That's right, the show that has been endlessly lauded for its soothing qualities and essentially functioned as everyone's personal weighted blanket during the last two years is getting its own American spinoff. TBD if the new version will be as relaxing as the original, but both Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith are staying on as judges, so that bodes well. They'll be joined by comedians and all-around pleasant humans Ellie Kemper and Zach Cherry who will co-host.

Personally, I can't wait to be transported back to the tent where the most stressful thing that can happen is icing-related. Frankly, it would be ideal counter-programming for a certain newly returned show about dragons and back-stabbing and misogyny, but it won't arrive until next year, so the OG will have to tide you over 'til then.
