Azure Weekly - Power BI Weekly #172 - 30th August 2022
Power BI Weekly Newsletter Issue #172
powered by endjin
Welcome to the 172nd edition of Power BI Weekly! A packed edition this week, and haven't we been spoilt. On the "official Power BI announcements" front, we've finally got a feature many of us have been waiting for for years - Announcing Public Preview of Multiple Audiences for Power BI Apps! This enables you to distribute different subsets of your artifacts within a workspace to different "audiences", effectively equivalent to multiple apps per workspace. This is big - I can imagine many admins will be happy about the possibility to declutter their tenant of now-redundant duplicate workspaces. We've also been told about the Updates to Microsoft Purview data loss prevention policies in Power BI, including CPU metering for data loss prevention policy evaluation.
On the non-official announcement front, but still very much official in my eyes, is the really exciting announcement that DAX Studio v3 has been released! You can read about the details in Darren's article here: v3 Release, Marco's article here: DAX Studio 3 released, and Marco's live recording with Adam and Patrick over here: DAX Studio 3 is out! LIVE w/ Marco Russo (Aug 27, 2022). Amazing work by Darren and the SQLBI team - thank you! Finally, and continuing from last week, I wanted to highlight Jeffrey's next blog about the brand new EVALUATEANDLOG function, all about Understanding The Output of EvaluateAndLog Function of Table Expressions.
