Here I am, once again, waxing poetic about Steve Lacy! Sad to report that I didn’t secure tickets to either of his shows this week despite knowing ALL the words to “Bad Habit”, unlike these alleged fans. But considering I bopped from a wedding in Chicago to Solange’s beautiful collab with the New York City Ballet over the weekend, the only place I wanted/needed to be on Monday and Tuesday night was my bed. Gemini Rights will remain in our (read: mine and my dog’s) rotation as we settle into hot, groovy, sad, sexy, cool girl fall — good girl fall for Sage — and I’m declaring here and now that I’ll catch him live next time.

Did you know that by grade 12, the white-Black reading gap rises to a whopping 32%? In hopes of changing this, our friends at Lancôme are working with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) to help support young women of color on their academic journeys. They’ll host online workshops and masterclasses via the NAACP platforms, and will provide coaching, mentorship, and educational resources for young WOC.
