Tim Ferriss - 5-Bullet Friday — October 28, 2022

Hi All!
Here is your weekly dose of 5-Bullet Friday, a list of what I’m pondering and exploring. Please feel free to forward this along to friends.
Profile I’m reading
“Man of Extremes: The Return of James Cameron” (The New Yorker). James Cameron is a beast worth studying. His track record is unparalleled, and few humans are as aggressive or as capable. Even if you’re feeling rushed, take 60 seconds to read the first paragraph of this piece, which is incredible. Kudos to Dana Goodyear (@danagoodyear) on the writing.
Album I’m listening to while working
“2001 Instrumental” (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music) by Dr. Dre (@drdre).
What I’m watching
Pick of the Litter (Amazon, Disney+, YouTube). This feel-good documentary was recommended to me by my mom. It is a little sappy at points, but the training for avoiding automobiles and refusing to follow owner commands is incredible. Fair warning: some of you will shed a tear or two. The official description: “Pick of the Litter follows a litter of puppies from the moment they’re born and begin their quest to become guide dogs for the blind. Cameras follow these pups through an intense two-year odyssey as they train to become dogs whose ultimate responsibility is to protect their blind partners from harm. Along the way, these remarkable animals rely on a community of dedicated individuals who train them to do amazing, life-changing things in the service of their human. The stakes are high, and not every dog can make the cut.”
Pilgrimage I’m learning more about
The Camino de Santiago. From Wikipedia: “The Camino de Santiago, known in English as the Way of St James, is a network of pilgrims’ ways or pilgrimages leading to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain, where tradition holds that the remains of the apostle are buried. As Pope Benedict XVI said, ‘It is a way sown with so many demonstrations of fervor, repentance, hospitality, art, and culture, which speak to us eloquently of the spiritual roots of the Old Continent.’”
Quote I’m pondering
“‘What is the secret of your serenity?’
Said the Master, ‘Wholehearted cooperation with the inevitable.’”
— Anthony de Mello
You can complement this edition of 5-Bullet Friday with my recent interview with travel writer Rolf Potts, this video of my top travel tips, and this clip on some of my favorite travel destinations.
And, as always, please give me feedback on Twitter. Which bullet above is your favorite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Please let me know. Just send a tweet to @tferriss and put #5BulletFriday at the end so I can find it.
Have a wonderful weekend, all.
Much love to you and yours,
Tim
P.S. Deal of the Week — AG1 by Athletic Greens!
I get asked all the time, “If you could use only one supplement, what would it be?” My answer is usually AG1 by Athletic Greens, my all-in-one nutritional insurance. I recommended it in The 4-Hour Body in 2010 and didn’t get paid to do so. I focus on nutrient-dense meals, of course, but AG1 further covers the nutritional gaps in my diet. Within AG1, you get a high-quality multivitamin and multimineral, pre- and probiotics, adaptogens, greens, and more, providing you a cost-efficient way to consolidate your supplement stack into less than $3.00 per day and less than 60 seconds. Rather than taking multiple pills or products to cover your mental clarity, gut health, immune system, energy, etc., you can support these areas through one daily scoop of AG1—which tastes great, even with just water, and also makes for the perfect travel companion. After consuming this product for 12 years, I recently chose to invest in Athletic Greens, as I trust their no-compromise approach to ingredient sourcing and appreciate their focus on continuously improving one formula rather than rolling out multiple products to sell you. There is no better time than today to start a new healthy habit, so take advantage of this exclusive offer for 5-Bullet Friday readers: a free 1-year supply of liquid vitamin D + 5 travel packs with your subscription purchase.
