Today we’re listening to Kuniyuki Takahashi, a Japanese composer, producer, and sound engineer. We first recommended him in 2019. The record label Music from Memory published his rediscovered early tape works in 2018. These recordings capture early explorations of synths and samples from the late ‘80s and ‘90s. Volume I is ethereal and ghostly, while Volume II features more drums and is almost vaporwave before that was a thing. We’re starting with volume two this time.
