Democrats are projected to retain a slight Senate majority after a pair of battleground state incumbents successfully defended their seats. Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) topped Blake Masters (R) by more than five points as of this writing, while Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) edged Adam Laxalt (R) by 0.6 points. Final tallies may shift as final votes are counted; The Associated Press called each race over the weekend.
The wins give Democrats a 50-49 edge, with a Dec. 6 runoff between incumbent Raphael Warnock (D) and Herschel Walker (R) in Georgia yet to be decided. If Walker wins, Vice President Kamala Harris will represent the chamber's tiebreaking vote; if Warnock wins, Democrats will hold a majority without requiring a tiebreaker.
Counting continues in Alaska, though the final two candidates—incumbent Lisa Murkowski and Kelly Tshibaka—are both Republicans.
The GOP is still projected to retake control of the House. With 218 seats needed for a majority, Republicans have won 212, and currently lead in nine uncalled races. See current tallies here.
In related news, reports suggest former President Donald Trump will continue with a planned announcement tomorrow from his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. He has previously hinted he would launch a 2024 presidential campaign during the event.

Six people were killed Saturday when two historical aircrafts crashed midair at an airshow in Dallas in front of thousands of spectators. The victims were trained pilots who volunteered for the educational event, including one former Texas city councilman.
The crash occurred at the Wings Over Dallas airshow when a rare P-63 Kingcobra fighter plane banked into a slow-moving B-17 Flying Fortress, both World War II-era aircraft. Crash debris scattered across a highway and a mall, though no injuries were reported on the ground. The B-17—only nine of which remain airworthy in the world—dropped more bombs on Germany than any other plane used in the US Air Force, while the P-63—one of four still able to fly—was deployed by the Soviet Union.
Federal agencies continue to investigate the cause of the crash, though some observers suggested the B-17 may have been in the fighter pilot's blind spot. See footage of the crash here (warning: sensitive content).

At least six people were killed and more than 80 wounded after a Sunday explosion along one of Istanbul's busiest streets. As of this writing, no motive for the attack has been identified, though Turkish officials suggested the blast appeared to be an act of terrorism.
Istanbul is Europe's most populous city, with more than 15 million residents—if confirmed, the explosion would mark the city's worst terrorist attack since a 2017 nightclub shooting left 39 patrons dead. The blast occurred along İstiklal Avenue (see 101), home to stretch of historic buildings, shops, and cultural institutions, and one of the city's most trafficked arteries. It also occurred on the city's European side—or west of the Bosporus, a straight that flows through the city's center.
No group has claimed responsibility for the explosion. See CCTV footage from the moment of the blast here (warning: sensitive content).
