If living things are allowed, my cat and supervisor Ingrid Bergman. If views are allowed, the scenic view of Sutro Tower from the window my desk looks out of. And if we’re just talking items, my camera always sitting within arms reach.

No special technique, just disconnecting from the problem at hand by cooking food, going for a walk with my camera, or watching a movie. Reading about the history of film and technology also constantly gets my brain churning with new ideas inspired by the past.

Lmao well I would say not great right now… My work life is about creating tools for my personal life’s greatest passion, so more often than not the two bleed into each other. But I’m happy to let my work life creep into my personal life as long as it is on my own terms. To that end, I’m pretty judicious about shutting down Slack and Email at a certain time and not feeling an obligation to respond to meetings or people outside of my “work hours.” As long as I don’t feel like I’m on the clock for someone else during my personal time, I’ll spend it however I want, which sometimes contributes to my work responsibilities.
