Good evening, and thanks for spending part of your day with Extra Points.

I take a lot of pride in being consistent and reliable in my publishing schedule. You are giving me your time, your inbox space, and your hard-earned money, in exchange for four-newsletters-a-week, so by God, I want to make sure you get those newsletters. I think we've missed a day...once...maybe twice...in the last three years.

I'm afraid I might have to miss a few more. Between a few weeks of constant travel, late nights, and exposure to the Petri dish that is public elementary school, I'm laid up with a pretty bad case of the flu at the moment. Not the Rona, thankfully, but a bad flu, one that is impacting my ability to do reporting, record podcasts, etc.

Normally, I'd be tempted to just plow right through it, like I've done before. But after this week, I think I'll take the advice of the doctors and rest as much as I possibly can.

I've got some interviews with mid-major conference commissioners from the SBJ Vegas event that I can share later this week. I have a reported story on college football video games coming soon, and a few other stories that are mostly done that I want to share before I take a long Christmas vacation. There are also well over 500 Extra Points newsletters in our archives, many of which are still evergreen. Like this one. Or this one.

I'm very sorry to miss a few days here, and I'll be back as soon as my body allows.
