Spray-on smart skin uses AI to rapidly understand hand tasks
Researchers from Stanford University have created a spray-on smart skin that combined with AI can bring invisible keyboards into reality or allow to identify objects by touch alone.

Code-generating AI can introduce security vulnerabilities, study finds
A recent study has found that software engineers who use code-generating AI systems are more likely to cause security vulnerabilities in the apps they develop. “Code-generating systems are currently not a replacement for human developers,” said Neil Perry, a PhD candidate at Stanford and the lead co-author on the study, to TechCrunch in an email interview. “Developers using them to complete tasks outside of their own areas of expertise should be concerned, and those using them to speed up tasks that they are already skilled at should carefully double-check the outputs and the context that they are used in in the overall project.”

How Amazon Uses AI To Automate Work In Its Corporate Headquarters
In 2012, Amazon launched Project Yoda - a project to automate traditional vendor manager responsibilities like forecasting, pricing, and purchasing. The project was a massive success and soon transformed into the project Hands off the Wheel. Now, the AI was not recommending what to do - it was doing the managers' work.

What’s next for AI
2023 is just around the corner so we are now in prediction time. In this article, MIT Technology Review predicts that in 2023 we will see chatbots combining different aspects of AI (like image generation or object recognition) into one multipurpose bot and further legal restrictions for AI. They also predict that big companies will lose grip on AI research as they will move from research to product development.

Baidu starts offering nighttime driverless taxis in China
Baidu is starting to offer its driverless taxis in Wuhan between 7 am and 11 pm without safety drivers behind the wheel. Previously, its unmanned vehicles could only operate from 9 am to 5 pm in the city.
