Axie Infinity Homeland and Illuvium Zero alphas! New play and earn from MetaApes and Dark Country! And more! -- Play to Earn #156

Welcome to the 156th edition of the Play to Earn newsletter!

Generally the week between Christmas and New Year's is pretty dead in regards to development news. And though this past week was slower than normal, we did receive a couple of major announcements, plus some other fun news.

The major announcements come from Illuvium, who launch the alpha of their land game known as Illuvium Zero, and Axie Infinity, who also launch their land gameplay alpha! It's a good time to be a landowner!

But for those who aren't landowners, a couple of new play and earn opportunities landed this past week as well. Dark Country has added daily NFT rewards, and MetaApes introduced a new feature that allows players to craft Relics and mint them as NFTs!

And that's not all! Alien Worlds introduces land maintenance, some NFT collections are migrating away from Solana, Metalands launches a major update, Blockchain Brawlers opens a limited time, Brawler burning event, and players can snag ugly Christmas sweaters from the Continuum marketplace!

Axie Infinity Releases Homeland

Axie Infinity releases homeland which brings land owners the very first land gameplay experience. This is an early alpha build but it already looks great. Finally, after more than three years of waiting, landowners are going to be able to play on their $1,000 USD land plots. Illuvium Zero Alpha Date Announced

Illuvium keeps the alpha coming with the announcement of a date for the launch of the first alpha for Illuvium: Zero, their land owning and management game. Starting in January, land owners will be able to playtest and provide feedback on Illuvium Zero in preparation for the second alpha phase where they can mint actual NFTs! — Read now

Meta Apes Launched A New Feature – Relics

Meta Apes NFT game has launched a new feature called Relics that will provide new abilities and enhance the strength of the Apes. The relics are mintable and players can mint them as NFTs. Relics help players with Buffs, which means that it improves the Apes’ performance for a short period. However, the players can only unlock Relics once they complete Chapter 18. — Read more

Dark Country Adds Daily NFT Rewards

Dark Country adds a new facet to their play and earn economy with the addition of Daily NFT rewards. Now, the top players of each day receive Hero cards as prizes. These Heroes can be staked into the land game for additional rewards as well! — Read more

Alien Worlds Releases Land Update

Alien Worlds releases a new land update giving the community a new landowner experience. Now, the most engaged landowners will be rewarded for their dedication.
