The Deleted Scenes - Year Three
2023 will be the third year (second full year) that I’ve been writing this newsletter. That amazes me, although maybe it shouldn’t. I’ve really always been a writer. The other week, I was looking through my old laptop, and I found a story I started writing in college. It followed a guy who worked in a post office but was an undercover investigator looking for criminal activity in the mail, or something; I never got much beyond an outline. But I did like a line I came across. The investigator was assigned to a very old post office branch with old radiators for heat, and I wrote something like “the heat from those old radiators seemed to actually penetrate the air.” It sounded familiar...
