If you hadn’t heard, Democrats made history in 2022: the party has won every single US House seat along the Pacific Ocean for the first time in American history. In their defense against a supposed “red wave,” they built the Great Democratic Seawall: stretching from Alaska’s at-large district all the way down to CA-52 along the Mexican border. Below is a state-by-state analysis of this history making feat, click through the headlines to read more about how Democrats pulled this off. WASHINGTON

• Democrats pulled off a shocker by flipping WA-3 in a race that most pundits expected Republicans to win, helping the party build its historic seawall along the Pacific coast.

OREGON

• While Democrats held on to Oregon’s coastal districts, Republicans picked up a new seat in Oregon due to Democrats’ failure to spend heavily in OR-5.

ALASKA

• With the election of Democrat Mary Peltola, Alaskan Natives receive representation in the US House for the first time in American history.
