Tech workers bring lessons from the office to coaching kids’ sports — and back again

Patience. Teamwork. Goal setting. A desire to compete. The place where you work and the buzzwords you hear might have a lot in common with what’s happening on a kids’ sports field near you.

As GeekWire co-founder Todd Bishop scanned through a list of court filings last Friday evening, Jan. 6, a case involving Seattle Public Schools and several social media giants jumped out immediately.

• The school district is suing the social media giants for damages stemming from what the suit describes as a youth mental health crisis in Seattle and across the country. After GeekWire broke the story last weekend, it made national news.
