Microsoft’s ‘multibillion dollar’ OpenAI investment comes with new level of secrecy

• The Redmond, Wash.-based company says its new investment in OpenAI is “a multiyear, multibillion dollar investment to accelerate AI breakthroughs to ensure these benefits are broadly shared with the world.” What the tech giant won't say is exactly how much it's investing, or for how long. • The results will put numbers to the growing sense of customer caution that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella conveyed in a memo last week announcing 10,000 job cuts.
