• Friday, Memphis police will release video of the January 7 traffic stop that led to the vicious beating and eventual death of Tyre Nichols, a 29-year-old Black man. [Associated Press / Adrian Sainz]
• Nichols’s family has seen the footage, which is expected to show the officers chasing Nichols after he fled and beating him for three minutes. Nichols died three days later from his injuries. [CNN / Travis Caldwell]
