Our Land” by Langston Hughes (February 1, 1901)
Wait” by Galway Kinnell (February 1, 1927)
My Song” by Joseph Seamon Cotter Sr. (February 2, 1861)
A Memory Of the Players In a Mirror at Midnight” by James Joyce (February 2, 1882)
Learning” by Judith Viorst (February 2, 1931)
Stanzas in Meditation” by Gertrude Stein (February 3, 1874)
The World We Want Is Us” by Alice Walker (February 9, 1944)
A Song for Many Movements” by Audre Lorde (February 18, 1934)
Eve Remembering” by Toni Morrison (February 18, 1931)
Wild Swans” by Edna St. Vincent Millay (February 22, 1892)
Skin Tight” by Ishmael Reed (February 22, 1938)

“There is a reason that poetry and the arts have existed for as long as human culture has: they add to our existence by shining a light on all aspects of who we are and what we feel, so poetry itself is one of the very real foundations of community.”

Read an interview with Poet Laureate Fellow and Nebraska State Poet Matt Mason. Read more about Mason, including poems.
