Craft Your Content - Can I count on you ?
Hey there,
Yesterday, I announced the enrollment for our winter session of our premiere Become a Master Writer course.
This is the only course out there that teaches you how to master your writing craft using an ancient method of learning that has rarely been seen in the past century.
If you’re doing well and you’ve already studied the basics of writing, I want to show you what comes next.
I’ll give you a behind-the-scenes look at the materials and lessons I’ve used to improve my writing, as well as teaching thousands of writers over the years to improve their own.

So what’s next?
OK, let’s get specific about what you get when you enroll in Become a Master Writer.
The 60 lessons in this 10-week course detail the most important building blocks of writing and storytelling:
- Module 1: Learning and Reading :: The way you’ve learned about writing is not the best way to learn about writing. Instead, you need to find better ways to read other writing and TWY WALTER (Take What You Want, Leave The Rest)
- Module 2: Language and Words :: A writer is only as good as the tools they have at their disposal. You might think your tools are software and notebooks, but your most important tools are the language and words you use.
- Module 3: Structure and Flow :: You’ve probably settled into a comfort zone that follows an unconscious formula and outline. But it’s important to consider other formats that might transform your writing.
- Module 4: Concept and Premise :: One of the worst problems I’ve found with writers I’m working with is that they can’t break their piece down to the simplest terms. If you aren’t solid on those, the rest of the piece will wander.
- Module 5: Characters and Heroes :: Too often we break our characters (whether human, creatures, avatars, or descriptions) down to their basic demographics and features. But the most enduring characters, that are remembered centuries later, are the ones that are well-developed.
- Module 6: Settings and Surroundings :: In fiction or in nonfiction, we want to be able to place ourselves in the story we are reading. You want to appeal to their senses and pull them in and give them landmarks to identify.
- Module 7: Themes and (Life) Lessons :: Will your reader be able to walk away from what you’ve written having learned something, or having something to think about? Heck, do they have enough information to take an action you’ve called them to?
- Module 8: Voice and Style :: Master writers are known for their voice and style. When you read something of theirs, you know immediately that they wrote it. There’s a reason this happens, but you only learn that reason by mastering the other building blocks.
Become a Master Writer also includes a wealth of materials, additional resources, masterminds, and peer support:
- Daily Excerpts from Master Writer’s Writing. Using copywork (don’t worry, I’ll teach you all about it in the course!) you’ll learn-without-realizing-you-are-learning. This is like walking in their shoes, but instead you are writing in their fingers.
- Regular Breaks and Writing Prompts. As important as writing consistently is, it is also important to take breaks and reflect on what you've done so far. Otherwise, you'll burn out. And a charred writer doesn't write at all. Let alone write well.
- Additional Resources and Materials. For each lesson, you’ll get instructions for details to consider, more writing you can read that more directly teaches that day’s information, and occasional video lessons to help break it down.
- Weekly Mastermind Calls. Every Wednesday at 12noon EST, I’ll be jumping on Zoom to answer questions, provide clarification, and just chat writing. There will be replays of these calls available, and you can send questions to me beforehand if you are not able to join.
- Online Student Forums. You’ll have access to conversations with all the other students in this session, who are going through the same lessons at the same time as you. It’s like a little student union where you can meet up and discuss your classes with others who are right where you are.
