Letters for Creatives - Following fairytale tropes or not | #87
Hello, welcome to the Letters for Creatives newsletter. Take a look at some writing prompts, the archive and newsletter directory to find what you need now. Thank you Alizabeth Rasmussen for becoming a paid subscriber to keep me writing these letters. There is a 7-day free trial across all the newsletters. If not, subscribe for free to receive tips and resources on writing, creativity, Interview With an Artist and Interview with a Creator series. This week challengeTo start fresh and get back to the routine of creating and writing next year, there would be a creative or writing challenge every other week. The first 5 challenges are going to be sent to you in the coming weeks in 2023. The remaining would be sent to paying subscribers for the rest of the year. I would feature some of you in the letters. Just hit reply and send me what you are writing or creating with my challenge. This week challenge:
The inner gamePaul Millerd read The Inner Game of Tennis and it is right up my alley. If you are looking to become a creator, his newsletter Boundless by Paul Millerd might be what you need. His book The Pathless Path is available if you are trying or have already left the default 9-5 career path.
Stories that receive the best reactions
Saunders argued that the best reactions we, as fiction writers or poets, can get is have readers stunned and left speechless after they finish reading the book. It is similar to what a great film does. Most of the great films I love left me thinking about the ending and the message the screenwriter wanted to convey. Fairytale or notLincoln Michel argued if we should follow the writing advice that fairytale stories suggest.
If you are an artist or creator and would like to be featured in either interview series, hit reply. Writers are also welcome as I have featured poets and fiction writers at the start of the series. If you have any suggestion who I should interview, let me know. If you like reading this newsletter, share with your friends on Twitter, LinkedIn, WhatsApp or Email to help me reach more people. Tip me a coffee if you feel generous. Take care, You're currently a free subscriber to Letters for Creatives. For the full experience, upgrade your subscription. |
