Azure Weekly - Power BI Weekly #198 - 14th March 2023
Power BI Weekly Newsletter Issue #198
powered by endjin
Welcome to the 198th edition of Power BI Weekly! A few more announcements this week. Possibly the most exciting of the announcements is the (opt-in) public preview of On-object, a new and improved way to format visuals within Power BI, allowing you to edit granular elements of a visual by selecting the items on the visual itself. We've also been told that The Scanner API now includes even more metadata, such as scheduled refresh settings, RDL, RLS configuration, and more, that you can now Use Power BI data from different regions in your Power Apps solution and that the ApproximateDistinctCount DAX Function Now Works On More DirectQuery Sources.
Elsewhere this week, Adam Saxton has spoken about Dataset permissions required for App report in Power BI? What am I missing? (particularly regarding shared datasets), and Harris Amjad has walked-through How to Create a Sunburst Chart in Power BI Desktop - an interesting way to visualize hierarchical data.
