This week, we’re looking at my top three flowers. This has been the hardest list to put together because I love all flowers. As someone who is not allergic to most pollens, I adore things that bloom. I love flowers in gardens. I love flowers on trees. I love flowers that sprout out of the wild. I love flowers I can put on my table. I love any and all flowers, be they colorful or white, large or small. Flowers are incredibly important for ecosystems and the environment. They have a purpose and a mission as plants. In my life, however, they are a simple source of joy. I cannot help but smile when I see flowers. Each spring, I make sure to take walks at lunchtime so that I can photograph and share all the blossoms in our neighborhood. In the fall, I have to hold myself back from petting the mums. In the winter, I like to have a bouquet at home because it improves my mood on cold days. When it comes to flowers, I am the one who stops and smells the roses… and the daises… and the wisteria. Just sit me amongst a field of flowers and I’m a happy camper.
