Greedy Paws & NFT Project Migrations | Decentralized Arts
Dear Bankless Nation, As NFT projects grow, community leads must consider the viability of the spaces in which they operate. Do the platforms they use support the utility they aim to create, the people they include, and the resources to sustainably grow? If not, decisions must be made and work must be done to provide the community with the resources required to maintain the project and watch it grow. This may mean creating new platforms. In the case of two NFT projects, this means migrating to different blockchains. Kouros provides an overview of y00ts and DeGods making the switch from Solana to Ethereum. Chippi turns to crypto agriculture, DustyEye is back with Part 10 of Legion 444 updates, and nonsense drops the alpha on this week’s NFT Showcase. Welcome to Decentralized Arts. Curated NFT Newsy00ts and DeGods Migrating Chains this WeekDeGods and y00ts are two popular NFT projects that were launched on the Solana blockchain in 2021 and 2022 respectively by FrankDeGods and team. In December 2022, the team announced that they would migrate DeGods and y00ts to different blockchains in 2023. DeGods would move to Ethereum, while y00ts would move to Polygon. The migration is optional for the existing holders of DeGods and y00ts, who can choose to stay on Solana or bridge their NFTs to the new chains. However, there are advantages for migrating the NFTs; for instance, further development of the projects on their new chains. Y00ts and DeGods staying in Solana will be subject to the penalties such as an enforced 33.3% royalty fee called the Paper Hand Bridge Tax (PHBT), no more points, airdrops, or community access. Not to mention the challenge in taking advantage of NFT utility on an unreliable blockchain. The migration of y00ts started yesterday while DeGods migration is scheduled to begin on March 31st. The team said that the main reason for the migration was to reach a larger and more diverse audience, as well as to explore new possibilities for their projects. D’Art DropsBy nonsense Introducing weekly NFT art drops for the Bankless community, brought to you by Decentralized Arts. This week’s drop is the second from our collaboration with Dark World Arts entitled Greedy Paws. Despite an abundance of resources available to sustain human growth and potential, all it takes is a few greedy hands to introduce scarcity and inequality into a system. We are fully experiencing this in the current financial system; unless we are diligent in our work, we will see this come to fruition on the blockchain as well. We have an opportunity for abundance in crypto; will we capitalize on that opportunity, or squander it? This piece will be made available during the BanklessDAO Community Call as part of the community NFT showcase. Head over to Rarible and add it to your favorites so you’re ready to collect it when it goes on sale. 70% of each sale will go to the artist, 5% will go to the DA and bDAO collaboration with ThriveCoin, 10% will be returned to BanklessDAO, and 15% will be retained by Decentralized Arts. Chippi CornerBy Perchy THE LEGION OF 444 – Part 10with L.Elrah illustration Dear BanklessDAO Readers, L.Elrah has made a sensational discovery: If a Legion demon is handled for artistic purposes, its graphic simulacrum is even more stable than the isolated versions in plastic test tubes (see Part07 and Part08). In the middle of last week, L.Elrah, possessed by creative impetus, worked on a Demon by blurring pixels, adding context, and increasing its graphic depth by 16.53%. We report the result in a photo, suitably printed and framed. Now L.Elrah is working on other subjects, but if any volunteers would like to come forward to help her in the work, please write to us at info@DustyEye.com to receive a demonic entity to try their hand on. Thank you in advance! …see you next week, Dusty Eye ______________________ WEB: www.DustyEye.com PostScript & AcknowledgementsDecentralized Arts is written and produced by a small team of contributors who are passionate about art, both visual and written, and its growing place in crypto and NFTs. With each edition, we aim to bring you not only the most current and relevant news in the NFT space, but also explorations in what it means for our culture and societies for this market to continue to grow and expand. When everyone is an owner of art, we all gain a deeper appreciation for it. If you enjoy reading this newsletter, please share it with someone who you think will appreciate the content.
