Have a seat, let’s talk about the future of work. Seattle financial services company Remitly is rethinking some of its downtown office space with an eye toward collaboration and team gatherings. The idea is to provide flexibility — and lots of couches — to employees used to the comforts of working from home. GeekWire got a tour.

Seattle is giving gig workers more protections. It is the first U.S. city to permanently ensure paid sick leave for food delivery and other on-demand, app-based workers. 

Washington state's capital gains tax ruling is getting national attention, with The Wall Street Journal's editorial board writing that Democrats will use the judicial ruling to "redefine other income taxes as excise taxes."
