Today we’re listening to Lorenzo Morresi, an Italian music producer and guitarist based in Milan. Growing up, Morresi fell in love with two disparate styles of music – dance music and Italian jazz funk – which he fuses in his own work.¹ Morresi, who also DJs, collaborated with multi-instrumentalist Tenderlonious on the 2022 record Cosmica Italiana. It’s an homage to ‘60s and ‘70s Italian soundtrack and library music, incorporating modern dance rhythms and the cheekiness of Todd Terje.² Morresi followed that up with another collaboration, Pop Flop, recorded with fellow producer Le Isole on rare Italian synths at the Museo Del Synth Marchigiano & Italiano in Le Marche.³ Cosmica Italiana - Lorenzo Morresi & Tenderlonious (50m, spoken vocals on track 6) Pop Flop - Lorenzo Morresi & Le Isole (40m, no vocals) Have a great Thursday.
