Remember when Morning Brew sold a majority stake, just a couple of years ago?

Now we’re hearing about founders who are selling their business to Morning Brew.

In 2020, the same year when Morning Brew was acquired, University of Michigan student Michael Sikand was sent home during the pandemic.

He wanted to do something useful, so he started a podcast, focusing on punchy, 15-minute interviews with business leaders. Then saw an opportunity to get even punchier: TikTok.

He started producing short-form business news videos of 15 to 30 seconds for TikTok.

As his views racked up, he joined with fellow student Simran Sandhu to launch Our Future, a social media agency that produces short-form business news video content.

Their goal was to help large companies thrive on emerging platforms — much like Sikand did for himself on TikTok.

In just 18 months, they signed deals with advertisers including Warby Parker, Shopify and HubSpot.

Then Morning Brew came knocking.
