With actions, protests, donation drives, and marketing campaigns abound, we here at Save Our Happy Place invite you to slow it down, block out the noise, and reflect on your relationship with Mother Nature. Earth Day is most likely not your sole day of climate action. So let’s connect deeper and reflect on how far we’ve come. Taking these moments can rejuvenate your energy and stamina to keep fighting the good fighting. Embracing Mother EarthSolutions and inspiration lie in awarenessOne of the more beautiful indulgences of life here on Earth is the sheer level of biodiversity, unique ecosystems, abundant fauna, and flourishing flora. From what we know about other planets in our solar system, they’re quite monochrome. This Earth Day, I’m feeling incredibly fortunate to be living in a space and time so beautiful with so much biodiversity at a moment that we can still do something to save it. There are many ways to celebrate Earth Day, I recommend truly connecting to the Earth. Take time to enjoy her majesty and let that fuel your efforts to help protect her all year long. Reframing nature from an “it“ to a “her“, as a mother nature, as a living breathing entity, brings sacredness to our work in the climate space. In our awareness of the beauty and abundance this planet has to offer, we may just find ourselves inspired to take that next action. Take a moment of personal reflection this Earth DayFor readers of this newsletter, Earth Day is likely not the only day you think about climate change and find ways to engage with the movement. Earth Day doesn’t have to denote a single day of action for those taking consistent action, but it can be a beautiful day and context to reflect. I invite you to journal or think over the following prompts with me this Earth Day. You might just be surprised with how far your climate journey has come this past year and how big of a part you have played, as well as brainstorm ideas for more ways to get involved this coming year: Journal Prompts:
