160,000 readers. Secret trick (tested by me)

HubSpot's team decided to test posting articles on Medium.
Here's what they found out...

1. They gained 160,000 readers in 7 months.
2. 89.7% of their readers were new (didn't know about HubSpot previously).

Here’s the best part.
3. Automated guest contributions generate the most traffic.

It worked for me too. 3 times! Here's how:
1. Some time after I write a new article I receive a "Guest contribution" request by email.
2. I hit "Accept request" and voila - my post gets promoted among new followers.

One of my articles was promoted this way by Startup Grind (Followed by 234K people).

Cumulatively my articles on Medium were read by over 40,000 people.
And over 1000 of them joined this email community.

Why do "big names" with big number of followers send these "Guest contributors" requests?
1. It's easy for them to look for awesome content, by looking at the number of recommendations.

3. It's easy to publish an article. No need to edit it, change formatting - it's already formatted for Medium.
