What’s Buzzing in WordPress 💖

Product Updates… GravityKit has released v2.0 of the Maps extension, which allows you to plot Gravity Forms entries on a Google Map. It has the Radius Search feature allowing you to search for listings nearby or type in an address and see listings in the surrounding area. Also, Novashare plugin version 1.4.1 has added a new Pinterest option to enable image attributes without image pins.
Page Builder Updates… Beaver Builder 2.7 is a big update with a new responsive editing experience, ACF Blocks Integration with Beaver, and the ability to add per-node CSS and JavaScript code. While Elementor v3.13 beta release has a lot of new things like Elementor AI, container CSS grid, performance, and accessibility improvements.
Price Hikes… starting from 1st May 2023, the pricing of the AFL UTM Tracker plugin single site yearly license will go up from $59 to $79. Also, WooCommerce has increased the price of (specific?) extensions from April 16, 2023 – like WooCommerce Subscriptions extension price is changing from $199 to $239, and the new price will be effective from the next renewal.

New Plugins… AIOSEO (All in one SEO) plugin team (Syed Balkhi, Awesome Motive) has released a new Broken Link Checker plugin to monitor all internal and external links on your WordPress website. While the WPBakery Page Builder is now available for WordPress (.)com users with a monthly ($7.80/mo) or annual ($70/yr) subscription option for a single site.
Jetpack & Woo… Jetpack Stats had a makeover promising to make it easy for you to find the data you need without the hassle of digging through a lot of pages or complex navigation patterns. Also, WooCommerce has launched a new managed hosting service called Woo Express with plans starting from $25 per month, paid annually.
Core Updates… the Gutenberg 15.6 (April 19, 2023) update has added an experimental details block that hides specific content until a user clicks to reveal (like an accordion), and the spacer block now has spacing presets. Also, check the status update on adding support for SQLite in WordPress.
People of WordPress… Marieke van de Rakt is saying goodbye to Yoast and NewfoldDigital with a future focus on investing in open source, sustainable and female-led companies through Emilia Capital. Also, after four years as a Principal Engineer at WPEngine, Mike McAlister is moving to solo adventures in design, product development, and business.
WP Milestones… Courtney Robertson shared about the WordPress Global Community on LinkedIn hitting 10K members milestone. While Paul Charlton’s WPTuts Youtube channel has crossed 150,000 subscribers with over 20 million views – wow!
