Uber and Lyft drivers are eligible for paid family and medical leave after Washington Gov. Jay Inslee signed a first-in-the-nation law this week. The move comes a year after the passage of another bill which set a minimum wage and other benefits for the state’s 30,000 rideshare drivers. Read more.

  • Open source enterprise security startup Stacklok, led by Heptio founder Craig McLuckie, raised $17.5 million.

Entertainment discovery platform Likewise is tapping into ChatGPT and AI to help users find more information and personalized recommendations on TV shows, movies, books and podcasts. Read more.

Valve software is facing a lawsuit that accuses the Bellevue, Wash.-based video game company of infringing upon “haptic” technology patents in gaming products such as the Steam Deck. Read more.
