The New York Times - Our favorite slim wallets

When I did testing for our slim wallets guide, we set out to find a sturdy, good-looking wallet that would hold the essentials without adding bulk to your pocket. There were a lot of wallets I liked. The one I kept going back to, though, was the Slimfold Tyvek in the cubic print, which from a certain distance recalls the repeating pattern of a very expensive French brand.

It’s literally paper-thin, holds far more cards than a standard wallet (upwards of a dozen!), and it got compliments almost every time I took it out. The only annoying thing is that because it’s made of paper, it only lasted me about a year, which, to be fair, may not make sense for some people. If you don’t mind a wallet that’s meant to go back to the earth, though, this one’s tops.
