This post will cover one SaaS area and talk about multiple niches in this space. This post also explains how to do tech implementation, do market analysis, and how the current players are doing, and ends with a cost analysis to understand the overall cost for 100 users.

Let’s see some of the players around tools for decks and presentations.

• Tome: AI-powered storytelling format that turns ideas into visually compelling narratives. Launched in September 2022, Tome became the fastest productivity tool to cross one million users. Raised $75.3M in funding

• Slide Translato: This lets users translate all their slides quickly and automatically in one click in many different languages. Available as an add-on on the Google Workspace marketplace, it has 196,469 downloads

• AhaSlides: Lets users add polls & quizzes to live presentations. Works with both PowerPoint and Google Slides. Suitable for all meetings – virtual, hybrid, and in-person.

• NativeSlides: Users can collect feedback on their uploaded presentations and build forms & surveys around them.

• Pitch Deck Hunt: a curated list of 1000+ pitch deck examples from the most successful startups.

• Genially: Design and create interactive and animated content. Estimated annual revenue is currently $8.9M

• Beautiful.ai: Create professional, stunning presentations in minutes. Beautiful.ai has hundreds of smart slides built with AI-assisted design. The DesignerBot builds presentations complete with professional slides, content, charts, and images. Hit $1.9M revenue in 2022.

• Slidev: Presentation slides for developers. Uses an extended Markdown format to store and organize slides in a single plain text file. Themes can be shared and installed using npm packages. 25.6K stars on GitHub

• Pitch: collaborative presentation software for teams. From pitch decks to project plans, conference keynotes to all-hands meetings, Pitch gives teams space to share all the work that matters. Received $137.7M in funding. In 2022, Pitch hit $7.4M in revenue.

• Magic Slides: An add-on for Google Slides that lets users create presentation slides with AI quickly. 29K+ downloads on Google Workspace marketplace, after launching in 2023

Negative Nancy says - “Using Generative AI might get complex and need a lot of knowledge on AI/ML”

Me - The use of OpenAI/GPT-3/ChatGPT APIs has made it substantially easier to build applications that incorporate Generative AI technology. You don’t need a complex infrastructure or AI/ML knowledge to build apps around Generative AI.

Negative Nancy says - “PowerPoint is great but not interaction friendly”

Me - Right and that is why you need to build products that make it more interactive with live Q&A, Polls, and Graphs. More in the next sections around this. PowerPoint is already used by millions of users across the globe and a solution around PowerPoint that could make it more interactive will help many people using PowerPoint.”

💡💡 Deep-dive & Some niches

Interactive Presentation Tool:

Making presentations interactive is one of the biggest challenges to any presenter. One of the best methods to make presentations interactive is to use engaging polls, and questions and drive the conversations. Traditional presentation decks lack these features usually. Create a Micro SaaS that helps make presentations interactive. A few add-ons for something like this would be to add interactive images, video, and infographics as well where people can click through the images/video and infographics to present better to the audience. Another add-on would be to add a feature where the presenter can track the attention of the audience in real time. This would allow the presenter to make changes to the presentation on the go and make it more interesting for the audience. The presenter must also have access to analytics and reporting tools. This would allow the presenter to understand the effectiveness of the presentation and make changes to it based on the feedback received. AhaSlides , Mentimeter and Genially are a few examples in this space. For example, tools like Genially are just not only used by businesses but also by a large number of educational institutions. Genially’s estimated annual revenue is currently $8.9M. In 2022, Mentimeter reached $21M in Revenue with 80K customers.

Generative AI for Creating Presentations:

No matter how many times you create a presentation, creating a new presentation from scratch is a daunting task because of the huge time it takes. With Generative AI trending exponentially, create a Micro SaaS that can help create presentations on the fly with minimal input from the user. The tools should also let users edit the PPT right inside the tool or at least give them a downloadable asset to edit further. If the Generative AI is decent enough, in most cases, this should cut down at least 50%-60% of the effort required. The Micro SaaS product should have a user-friendly interface that allows users to fill in the basic information about their presentation such as the topic, intended audience, main points, and any special requirements. This information will be used by Generative AI to craft a presentation tailored to the user’s needs. The users can then view the generated presentation and customize it as per their needs. The user should be able to also download the presentation to edit further or share the link with others. This SaaS solution could include access to premade templates, additional customization options, team collaboration, and more. A few products like MotionIt, Beautiful.ai, and Magic Slides are doing well in this space. Beautiful.ai hit $1.9M in revenue in 2022.

AI Voice-Over Generator for Presentations:

AI Voice Generators are getting popular with huge search volumes. One of the biggest usages for AI Voice generators is using the generated voice for Presentations. ‘Reusing content’ is one of the best hacks of any industry to save time and build traffic from one single content type. Most companies/businesses want to reuse existing presentations and add voiceovers to them that resemble natural voices and push the presentation with voice-over to places like Youtube and other streaming platforms to drive traffic or build authenticity. Create a Micro SaaS that can take existing slides as input and a few selections of voices/accents and the Micro SaaS should be able to provide a fully usable video (presentation + audio/voice-over). Many people need readily available presentation templates that they can tweak based on their needs. Using templates can help to save time when creating a presentation as there is no need to start from scratch. Create an e-commerce kind of store where people can download readily available presentation templates for various things. Some popular template categories could be - Pitch Decks, Fundraising Templates, Notion-based templates, Figma-styled templates, Financial Templates, etc. You can also offer a one-time consultation for creating these templates from the base template. Many people look for this kind of ‘done-for-you’ service. Base Templates is one good example in this niche that reached $10K MRR. You can also pick your popular templates and create video courses like these.
