A bright green beacon on the shoreline at Bill Gates’ Lake Washington home is shining a light on a literary mystery involving the Microsoft co-founder. The apparent homage to “The Great Gatsby,” one of Gates’ favorite books, also has a one-time connection to his ex-wife, Melinda French Gates. Read more.

Amazon says it has filed more than 94 lawsuits against fake product review sites around the world so far this year, which already exceeds the number filed by the company last year. It’s the legal equivalent of swatting at flies. Amazon this morning made a public appeal for help.
