Here’s one tip for a better start to your week. 

Forty years ago today, Sally Ride made a giant leap for womankind when she became the first American woman in space. So there’s no better time to travel to infinity and beyond — figuratively, of course. Especially since a bit of awe can apparently do wonders for your mental health (think: calming your nervous system, relieving stress). Here are a few ways to get out of this world…

• Watch a doc. Netflix’s “Mercury 13” is about the women who could have been NASA’s first female astronauts — but were grounded because of their gender. Another option? “Woman in Motion” which chronicles Star Trek icon Nichelle Nichols’s groundbreaking campaign to bring diversity to NASA, IRL. 

• Better yet, watch space. You can rewatch the first-ever Mars livestream, which happened earlier this month. Or, you can rewatch last week’s spacewalk at the International Space Station. If that’s not enough, there’s also views from the ISS.

• Gravitate to a museum. The best way to experience space, from right here on Earth? Visiting the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Orlando, or Space Center Houston. If none of those places are close to home, you can find a science center or museum via the Association of Science and Technology Centers.
