Flow State - Keith Jarrett
Flow State recommends interesting focus music every weekday. You’re on the free tier – if you enjoy Flow State, the paid tier gets you more music: Good morning. Today we’re listening to Keith Jarrett, an American pianist from Pennsylvania. He took up piano before his third birthday, and at age seven performed Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart at a recital.¹ In 1964 Jarrett moved to New York City and joined Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, and went on to play with Miles Davis on tour. After playing with storied jazz bands, Jarrett struck out on his own, recording several solo records and most notably live solo concerts. We’re playing two of those solo records: The Köln Concert, a set of live improvisations made in Cologne in 1975, and his Shostakovich album from 1992 (h/t Tyler Cowen). The Köln Concert - Keith Jarrett (70m, no vocals) Dmitri Shostakovich: 24 Preludes and Fugues, Op. 87 - Keith Jarrett (140m, no vocals) Have a great Wednesday.
