Hailey Bieber's Exposed Undies Look Is A '90s "Soft Girl" Version Of The Trend

In 2011, E.L. James worked with a small online publisher to release an e-book and print-on-demand version of her wildly popular Twilight fan fiction. By the end of 2012, the book had sold between 65 million and 70 million copies. That book, of course, was Fifty Shades of Grey.

“I see my books as an escape route into a different world,” James says. “I mean, we can all look at ordinary people in the mirror. Let’s read about some gorgeous people.”

Bustle spoke with James about the runaway success of the Fifty Shades world, her terrifying brush with amnesia in 2019, and her latest project, The Missus.
