WP Weekly 154 - Performance - Tabs Block, SEO Publishing Principles, Trigger Button

• New Plugins… ClickWhale, a WordPress plugin to shorten URLs and analyze clicks, has released the ClickWhale Pro version which supports eCommerce conversion and UTM campaign tracking. And, this plugin was featured in the 1st issue of Plugins Weekly newsletter along with a few other useful plugins on the Pluginsly website.
  
  
• Being Resourceful… Josh Pollock shared about adding the final chapter to Refactoring WordPress Plugins ebook. It is a 5 part ebook on how to structure, refactor and test the PHP code you write for WordPress plugins using dependency injection. • Product Updates… Stackable has added a new Tabs Block that is fully accessible and responsive promising easy readability across multiple devices and screen sizes. Also, LearnDash 4.7.0v with course pre-ordering feature and the ability to add start and end dates to your course for the cohort-based learning system setup.

1. New Feature Updates… the team at SureTriggers has introduced Trigger Button feature that allows you to run multiple actions in the back end when a user clicks a button. For example, create a new user, enrolling in a course, and send the course info – all this on a click of a button. While Breakdance 1.4 has added a new grid layout element and dynamic data support in HTML Attributes.
   
   
2. More Product Updates… Yoast SEO 20.11 has introduced a new option to add publishing principles, which should help Google to easily find and recognize your essential principles, that help with E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness). While the Coupon Affiliates v5.6.0 update has added a bulk affiliate coupon creation feature and a new tool that allows the import and export of custom tables.
   
   
3. WordPress Services… WPCS has launched a free Storefront feature that allows you to create a Website as a Service (WaaS) business and sell WordPress websites on autopilot without writing any code. Also, Everest Backup now integrates with the InstaWP service allowing the upload of Everest Backup when creating a new install on InstaWP.
   
   
4. WordPress Packaged… Bluehost Hosting has launched the WonderSuite feature that aims to address a lot of moving parts of a WordPress website in one place like WonderStart for onboarding, WonderTheme for the base, WonderBlocks library of patterns and templates, WonderCart for eCommerce, and more.
   
   
5. People of WordPress… Carrie Dils highlighted how the separation of the presentation layer (themes) with the site functionality (plugins) and the content (database), has blurred as a result of the Block Editor. While Birgit Pauli-Haack shared about the kick-off meeting for the WP 6.4 led by the underrepresented-gender release squad.

Coming in WordPress 6.3 release

WordPress 6.3 will come with image performance enhancements that should help in better LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) metric. It will also focus on lazy loading metadata improvements for term, comment, and site metadata.
