What will a future downtown Seattle look like? Artificial intelligence offered up some ideas. As part of the “Downtown Activation Plan” aimed at rejuvenating Seattle’s core, City leaders used AI to create illustrations of grand concepts such as an urban forest, makerspace campus, arts and entertainment district, and more. But here’s where AI imagery can miss the mark.  

AI could add as much as $10 trillion to the global economy. The technology could also be a big win for Microsoft’s bottom line. Those were two of the takeaways from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s talk Tuesday morning at the company’s Inspire partner conference, and Wall Street took note. The company’s announcement of pricing for its Microsoft 365 Copilot feature put its stock price on pace for a record close. Read more

Amazon lowered its annual carbon footprint for the first time in the five years that it’s been sharing such data. The tech giant reported a 0.4% reduction in 2022 and worldwide sustainability VP Kara Hurst acknowledged that while progress might appear slow going, Amazon “thinks long-term.” Read more.

S!ng, a Seattle startup developing a blockchain-based marketplace for musicians to sell non-fungible tokens and physical merchandise, raised $2.66 million. Read more.
