3D printer maker Glowforge has a new machine: The Seattle startup unveiled Aura, a laser cutter/engraver priced at $1,200 to make crafting at home a more accessible hobby. Co-founder and CEO Dan Shapiro (above) said the product “represents the culmination of eight years of waiting for the broader technology industry to catch up.” Read more.

Amazon reduces iRobot acquisition price: The 15% cut will offset a new $200 million loan necessary to fund the Roomba robotic vacuum-cleaner maker’s ongoing operations. Read more.

A-Alpha Bio, a Seattle biotech startup that uses machine learning to help drug companies discover new treatments, raised $22.4 million.
