The Best Thing is our weekly discussion thread where we share the one thing that we read, listened to, watched, did, or otherwise enjoyed recently.

My best thing for the week is a parenting lesson we learned from our kiddo’s first friend birthday party that happened this weekend. The Husband asked the table full of preschoolers, "What flavor cupcake do you want?" The response was an immediate cacophony reminiscent of a pack of raptors screeching loudly in unison but all in different keys. The noise was deafening. It was also full of joy. That memory is going to put a smile on my face for awhile.
