Boo-sted Features: Our Frighteningly Good Halloween Update 🎃

What's up, Hacker! 👋

In the last couple of months, our devs have been, as ever, busy building new features that'll improve your experience with HackerNoon; from even more story translations to a total of 13 languages (previously, 8), a simpler signup flow for both readers & writers, easily searchable & pinnable writing templates, a shit ton of mobile app updates (we are up to version 1.8 now on apple!), a more comprehensive Search experience, a job portal and much more! This product update reflects changes to the platform from July 25th until October 18, 2023.
Read the Full Product Update Here 💚
🗣️Story Translation, Now Available in 13 languages: HackerNoon Top Stories and any brand articles are now automatically translated into 13 different languages (from the previous 8). The new languages include Russian, Korean, Turkish, German and Bengali. Learn how to make your next story a top story here.

🚪Sign Up To Our New Flow: On HackerNoon main page, pick which type of account you want to sign up for, Reader or Writer. As a reader, you can choose which Tech Categories and newsletters you want to subscribe to while creating your account. As a writer, you only need to add an email and password and get right to writing. After these steps, a handle will be autogenerated for you. Complete your onboarding process by visiting your profile page and changing your handle. Welcome aboard!

✍🏾
The New & Improved “Start Writing” Page: When you click “Write”, you’ll see 3 ways to start a new draft: start from a blank page by using Editor 3.0, import a story from an existing URL, or utilize our many writing templates! Once on the draft page, you’ll also notice that draft notes have also been converted into direct messages that allow you to initiate conversations with HackerNoon editors, and sticky notes that can be used to help you organize your thoughts as you go. Have fun!

🍥 HackerNoon's Open-Sourced Pixel Icon Library: We're excited to introduce “The Pixel Icon Library by HackerNoon” to the community. Now available on Figma Community and GitHub for the community to use. This open-source collection of Pixelated Icons was designed using a 24px grid for perfect alignment and consistency, thereby enriching your web/app/product/page/life experience. Inspired by HackerNoon’s retro design vibe, these icons encapsulate the essence of the internet's golden era.

💬Free Commenting 4 All Writers: If you’re a writer at HackerNoon, your perks just got bigger. Now, your comments are auto-approved, meaning, no more waiting in line for our editors' green light. Similarly, you can now approve and deny comments on your story pages so you don’t have to deal with haters.

🔍The HackerNoon Search Page: Meet our new oasis for all HackerNoon information! Here's what you can expect: an improved search bar that gets you results for every story, tag, person, company, and coin that matches your search; and a trending section that shows all current trending stories, popular topics, translations, and condensed versions of Trending Companies and Coins rankings.

🧑‍💼Find Your Next Job With HackerNoon: Our new installment helps you browse through hundreds of job positions across the globe, be it software development and data science to cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, allowing you to search by title and area, your favorite companies and the featured jobs section.

📜Your Testimonials All Over HackerNoon: HackerNoon has a new page filled with users' testimonials about their experiences on our platform - read all of them here. Want to see your review up there with the rest of the Hackers? Submit your testimonial today!

👔Startups of The Year '23: our flagship community-driven event has broken a new record: the current number of votes is 325K and counting! With only three months left to the end of this iteration, the 2023 edition promises to be a big success and opportunity for startups worldwide. Have you cast your vote yet? Do it here!
Until next time, take care & treat your internet friends with respect,
